From Hail the Apocalypse to Avatar Country: The Records Behind the Designs

· The Band

Our records run from melodic death metal to a concept album about a King. Here are the three that sit behind a lot of the designs, and the pieces that come from them.

What was Hail the Apocalypse?

Released on 13 May 2014, with the title track and "Bloody Angel" as singles, plus "Vultures Fly", "Tsar Bomba" and "Puppet Show".

In the shop: Hail the Apocalypse Face is a torn, blood-stained portrait with ALL FLESH IS EQUAL WHEN BURNT across the back.

What is Avatar Country?

Released on 12 January 2018, it's a concept album where every song has "King" in its name. It opens with "Glory to Our King", which we called the record's "national anthem", and we said we wanted to see if we could do comedy.

In the shop: Glory to Our King shows a crowned king on his throne in gold, with the opening track's title on the back.

What about Hunter Gatherer?

Released on 7 August 2020, it goes the other way: a dark record, devoid of humour.

Which one should I start with?

Start with the mood you want. Torn and grim, go for Hail the Apocalypse Face. Golden and a little ridiculous, go for Glory to Our King. Every design comes on tees, long sleeves, crewnecks and hoodies, with kids' and youth sizes too.
